We have had to do some juggling this summer, but have two dates established for community garden programs so far.

The first will be Wednesday, August 7th at 6:30 p.m. Erica Shaffer from Highland Gardens will be with us. Erica always gives us new and valuable gardening information. The second will be Thursday, August 15th at 6:30 p.m. Kathy Quarles from Stauffer’s will also be with us to answer garden questions and offer information. Both of these experts are featured on various television and radio shows, as well as gardening articles in local publications. We are very fortunate to have them share their knowledge with us. These programs are free and open to the public, as well as to our gardeners when we gather around the gazebo at the Ames Community Gardens on Railroad Avenue in Shiremanstown with our lawn chairs or blankets. The programs are usually about an hour long They are designed to help us learn to be better gardeners and it is a great, informal way to meet some of the gardeners!
